SKY Express Reports Strong Q1 Growth with International Traffic Surge

Greek airline SKY Express announced robust growth in key performance indicators during the first quarter of 2026, driven by a significant increase in international passenger traffic. The carrier saw a 19.4% rise in total passenger traffic and a 34.5% increase in revenue from scheduled flights compared to the same period in 2025.

International passenger traffic surged by 37.2% year-on-year, reflecting the continued expansion of SKY Express’ international network, which now includes 27 destinations. The airline also reported a 12.2% increase in total flight activity, excluding Public Service Obligation (PSO) routes, supported by the addition of new aircraft to its fleet.

Commenting on the results, SKY Express Chief Commercial Officer Gerasimos Skaltsas stated that the first-quarter performance shows the airline's growth trajectory is accelerating across all major indicators. Despite rising fuel costs linked to ongoing geopolitical tensions, the airline has decided not to impose fuel surcharges on ticket prices.

“With the campaign ‘Stress Has No Place in SKY’, we are making a clear commitment that the ticket booked by the passenger remains the final price,” Skaltsas said.

The airline’s management noted that its fleet renewal strategy has helped reduce fuel consumption by up to 15%. SKY Express anticipates further momentum during the summer season, supported by continued demand from both domestic and international markets. The carrier currently serves 33 destinations across Greece and operates a fleet of 29 aircraft.
