Russian travelers continue to favor Turkey for their June holidays, maintaining the country's position as the leading destination. According to data released by the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR), the nation also saw a record surge in sales for Vietnam, signaling a shift in regional travel preferences.

Turkey: Stable Spending and Longer Stays

Average holiday expenses for trips to Turkey remained almost unchanged from the previous year, settling at 213,800 rubles. However, the duration of stays increased slightly, rising from seven to eight nights. While the Mediterranean coast of Antalya continues to dominate, interest in Aegean resorts such as Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, and Kuşadası has grown significantly.

Family tourism drives this demand, with parents traveling with children accounting for more than half of all visitors. There is also a notable trend toward luxury, as bookings for five-star hotels have increased compared to last year. Istanbul has also seen a rise in visitor numbers, diversifying the flow beyond traditional beach resorts.

Vietnam's Record Surge and Regional Shifts

Vietnam emerged as the standout performer of the month. Although average tour costs dropped by 24.8% to 156,800 rubles, sales volume hit record levels. Experts attribute this boom to expanded charter flight options and heightened competition among tour operators. Travelers are no longer limiting themselves to Nha Trang; destinations like Da Nang, Cam Ranh, and Hoi An are gaining traction.

Elsewhere, Egypt saw a modest 2.4% price drop to 174,300 rubles. While Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh remain staples, interest is spreading to Dahab, the North Coast, and Cairo. Thailand experienced a sharper 12.5% decline in average costs to 149,500 rubles, with Phuket still leading but facing increased competition from Pattaya, Koh Samui, and Phang Nga.

Budget Travel and Premium Costs

Domestic travel within Russia saw an 11.3% drop in average spending, settling at 95,800 rubles. Demand for Sochi softened, allowing Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Moscow, and Crimea to capture a larger share of the market. Meanwhile, Abkhazia offered a budget-friendly alternative with an 8.5% price decrease, supported by hotel campaigns and new affordable flights to Sukhumi.

At the other end of the spectrum, Maldives became the most expensive destination, with average costs rising 15.6% to 298,350 rubles. This spike is linked to a reduction in affordable transit flights due to developments in the Middle East. Notably, Indonesia (Bali) and Georgia entered the top ten list for the first time, with Georgia standing out as one of the most economical choices at just 78,800 rubles.
