Olympic cycling champion Olaf Ludwig returned to Godech Delechev this year, leading a group of cyclists from Germany. For the fourth consecutive year, the cycling route includes Godech Delechev due to its interesting landmarks, beautiful nature, and excellent conditions for cycling.
The cyclists, including several women, met with the mayor of the municipality, Vladimir Moskov. They shared that Godech Delechev is one of their favorite and must-visit stops during their week-long tour in Bulgaria. "From our previous visits, we have been charmed by the friendly people, warm welcome, and beautiful surroundings. This is why we always look forward to our visit to Godech Delechev with great anticipation," said the amateur cyclists.
This year's group consists of 30 people who have been in Bulgaria for the past week, participating in one of the most significant sporting events for the country – the Giro d'Italia. On average, they cover more than 100 kilometers each day. Their current route is Banskoo – Godech Delechev – Melnik. These traditional cycling tours in Bulgaria for German enthusiasts have been taking place for the 18th consecutive year.
This is a testament to how Bulgarian landscapes have become a must-visit for cycling enthusiasts. Will we see more such tours in the future, or is Bulgaria already a hidden gem for these cyclists?
