Zenica will host Bosnia and Herzegovina's new national stadium, marking a significant milestone for the country’s football infrastructure. The modern stadium, valued at approximately €65 million, will be constructed on the site of the cultural landmark Bilino Polje. The project, which has already generated considerable excitement among football fans, is part of a broader investment in football infrastructure across the country, including ongoing and planned projects in Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka, and other cities.

The new stadium will be the result of a complete reconstruction of Bilino Polje, with the project overseen by the Zenica-based firm "Aksa." With a capacity of 18,000 seats, the arena will meet the highest FIFA and UEFA standards and will be classified as an elite category venue. Modern facilities such as changing rooms, doping control rooms, VIP boxes, and media spaces are planned to ensure top-notch conditions for players and visitors. In addition to the national team, NK Čelik will also use the stadium as its home ground.

According to the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is leading the project in partnership with the City of Zenica, the complete project documentation is expected to be finalized by August 2026, after which construction is planned to begin. The president of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vico Zeljković, stated that this is a long-term significant step for the development of BH football and the creation of better conditions for all teams.

Across Bosnia and Herzegovina, significant investments are being made in stadiums. Željezničar has commenced construction on a new southern stand at Grbavica, valued at 4.7 million KM. Velež and GOŠK are covering their stadiums with roofs, and funds have been secured for work in Posušje and Banja Luka, where Borac will renovate the eastern stand and build a southern one.
