Zagreb has become the first European city to introduce a robotaxi service, announced Croatian company Verne, which has been piloting the autonomous vehicles on the city's streets for a month, according to Farnespres.

In a partnership with the major taxi service Uber and the autonomous driving system of Chinese firm Pony.ai, the robotaxis are set to revolutionize urban transportation in the Croatian capital. This development positions Zagreb at the forefront of autonomous vehicle technology in Europe.

The robotaxi service is part of a broader initiative to integrate advanced technology into daily urban life. By collaborating with global tech leaders, Zagreb aims to enhance its status as a forward-thinking city that embraces innovation and sustainability.

The month-long trial phase has provided valuable insights into the potential of autonomous vehicles in urban settings. If the trial is successful, it could pave the way for the widespread adoption of robotaxis in Zagreb and potentially other European cities.
