Romanian drone manufacturer BraveX Aero has successfully delivered its first domestically-produced jet-powered drone to a client. The company is now seeking seed funding to boost its production capacity and accelerate its growth in European markets. Rareș Racoțean, the CTO and founder of BraveX Aero, stated that the Vimana Jet models have completed all necessary flight tests and technical validations, marking them ready for full-scale production.
Technological Advancements
BraveX Aero's Vimana Jet drones can reach speeds of up to 500 kilometers per hour and maintain a cruising speed of 250 kilometers per hour for 40 minutes. These advanced drones are designed for both target drone applications in defense system calibration and as interceptor drones. According to the company, the Vimana Jet project represents a significant technological leap for Romania's aeronautics industry and showcases the country's capability to design and manufacture sophisticated aerial systems within the European Union.
Contract Success and Future Plans
The company recently completed deliveries under a contract signed last autumn, which it describes as its largest project to date. This contract has reinforced BraveX Aero's position as a supplier for institutional clients in the European security sector, leading to additional contracts with private and government customers. To meet the growing demand, BraveX Aero has launched a funding round aimed at scaling its manufacturing operations, expanding sales across Europe, and completing the development of a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drone model by the end of 2026.
BraveX Aero is set to participate as an exhibitor at the Black Sea Defense and Aerospace 2026 event in Bucharest next week.
