The Huajiang Canyon Bridge, located in southwestern China, officially opened to traffic on September 28, 2025, entering the annals of global engineering literature. The massive structure has surpassed the record of the 565-meter-high Duge Bridge, also in the same province, to become the world's highest bridge.

SOURCE WATER TRANSFORMED INTO ARTIFICIAL WATERFALL

The bridge's design includes a unique artificial waterfall system. Karstic spring water discovered during tunnel excavation works in the area was directed to the bridge body via a special drainage line by engineers. This system creates a curtain of water flowing from the bridge base to the canyon floor.

WORLD'S TALLEST ARTIFICIAL WATERFALL

The mechanism integrated into the bridge body has the capacity to release water from a height of 625 meters above the canyon floor. With this height, this architectural feature is also officially recognized as the world's tallest artificial waterfall. The Huajiang Canyon Bridge is considered one of the most important infrastructure investments in the region, offering logistical advantages and advanced engineering solutions.
