The Stage Is Set in Belgrade

The lights are dimming, the crowd is roaring, and the Belgrade Arena is preparing to host a spectacle that promises blood, sweat, and glory. On May 30, 2026, Belgrade Arena will witness FNC 31, a card stacked with eleven professional bouts that screams for attention. But all eyes are locked on the clash between two men of fire: Bulgaria’s Valeri Atanasov, known as "Vulk," and Bosnia’s seasoned warrior Tomislav Spahovic, "The Beast."

A Tale of Two Strikers

Atanasov, 35, is a man on a mission. After falling to Cuban powerhouse Andres Ramos at FNC 22 in Ljubljana this past April, the Bulgarian striker is hungry for redemption. With a professional record of 4 wins and 2 losses, Atanasov is no novice. He is a bronze medalist from the European Amateur MMA Championships, renowned for his aggressive striking and willingness to trade blows. His corner will be manned by coach Delian Slavov, a busy man indeed, who will arrive fresh from guiding three fighters at MAX FIGHT 65 in Plovdiv just the day before.

His opponent, Tomislav Spahovic, is a different kind of danger. Also 35, the Sarajevo native carries a record of 11 wins and 8 losses, with a balanced 3-2 ledger inside the FNC. Training out of Elite MMA Fitness Sarajevo and affiliated with American Top Team, Spahovic is a grappler’s nightmare and a striker’s test. Standing at 177 cm, he recently dismantled Georgian fighter Shota Gvasalia with a first-round arm-triangle choke at FNC 20. This is not a fight for the faint of heart.

A Night of Champions

This is more than just one bout. FNC 31 is poised to be the biggest MMA event on the Balkans this year. The main event features middleweight champion Gianni Barbir, sitting at 7-1, defending his throne against Alexander Ilic. Add to that a heavyweight collision between Darko Stosic and former UFC veteran Greg Hardy, and you have a night where every punch could rewrite history. Atanasov’s eye remains fixed on the ultimate prize: the FNC light heavyweight title. Will Vulk roar back to glory, or will The Beast claim another scalp? The answer lies in the cage.
