Bulgarian tennis player Victoria Tomova will be the sole representative of Bulgaria in the second qualifying round of the French Open, after defeating Irene Buriollo of Spain with a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. Earlier, debutant Elyzara Yanova and veteran Grigor Dimitrov were eliminated.

The match started poorly for Tomova, who lost the first game on her own serve, but she regained control of the set. She recorded three breaks and won all statistical indicators, including winning points, unforced errors, and first serve point percentage.

The second set also started poorly for the Bulgarian player, who lost her first two service games and saw her Spanish opponent successfully defend one of the breaks, leading 3-1. This time, there was no comeback, and Tomova failed to win another service game from Buriollo, who leveled the set scores. However, in the third set, Tomova dominated, breaking in the fourth and eighth games to end the match after two hours and 20 minutes. It was the last match of the day in Roland Garros qualifying.

In her next match, Tomova will face 16th seed Polina Kudermetova, the only ranked player in her path. Kudermetova is the younger sister of Veronika Kudermetova, who reached the quarterfinals of Roland Garros in 2022.
