Victor Markov has reached his first quarterfinal of the season in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) tour, following his victory over wild card entry Daniil Stepanov at the hard-court tournament in Kayseri, Turkey. Markov won the match with a score of 6:0, 1:0, with Stepanov retiring in the second set due to physical issues after just 24 minutes on the court. The tournament carries a prize fund of 15,000 dollars.
Markov's Dominant Performance
The 21-year-old Bulgarian lost only 8 points out of 32 played in the first set. He continued his strong performance in the second set, leading 40:0 in the second game before Stepanov decided to retire due to physical problems. This victory marks Markov's progress towards a first-class ranking in the semifinals.
