Radiana Velichkova and Zinga Barbosa Firmino Win 100m Sprints at Plovdiv Tournament

Radiana Velichkova and Zinga Barbosa Firmino were the quickest in the 100m finals at the international athletics tournament "Plovdiv" today. Velichkova, who met the World Junior Championships standard earlier in the heats, improved her time to 11.72 seconds (+0.1 m/s) in the final. Mila Dimitrova finished second with a time of 12.18 seconds, while Andrea Savova took third place with 12.20 seconds.

Radiana Velichkova Qualifies for World Juniors in Eugene

Zinga Barbosa Firmino, the bronze medalist in the triple jump at last year's European Championships for juniors, also triumphed in the men's 100m sprint. Firmino, who recently announced his intention to compete in sprint events, set a personal best of 10.56 seconds (-0.5 m/s). Dilyan Chernopolksi, who has been performing well this season, placed second with a time of 10.71 seconds, which was also a personal best for him. Atanasio Staynov took third place in the men's 100m sprint with 10.77 seconds.
