Košarkaš Valensije Žan Montero expressed confidence in the team's self-belief and mental strength ahead of the EuroLeague finals in Athens, where Valensija will face Real Madrid in the semifinals. Montero highlighted the importance of daily work and mutual trust between the coach and players.
Valensija’s Mental Preparedness
"Everyone here in Athens for the finals must be ready. I believe we have the necessary self-belief and mental strength for the final. We have this because of the work we put in every day and the trust between the coach and the players. That's why I believe we are ready as a team," Montero said at a press conference.
Valensija’s Road to the Finals
Valensija secured one of the four spots in the finals by defeating Panathinaikos in the quarterfinals. Despite trailing 0-2 in the series, Valensija made a remarkable comeback under coach Pedra Martines.
"Our self-belief shouldn't depend on whether we won or lost the last game," Martines said, referring to his team's victory in the fifth quarterfinal game against Panathinaikos.
"Self-belief should stem from our daily work, our identity, and our belief in ourselves. This is much more important than whether we won or lost the last game," he added.
The semifinal game between Valensija and Real Madrid is scheduled for 8:00 PM local time. In the first semifinal, Olympiacos will face Fenerbahçe at 5:00 PM.
Valensija's comeback has been incredible, and their mental strength is a testament to their grit. Can they pull off another upset against Real Madrid? This is going to be a showdown for the ages!
