Since the days of Napoleon, the Pyramids of Giza have never seen a battle quite like this one.

This Saturday, the undisputed heavyweight champion, Alexander Usyk, will defend his WBC title against former GLORY heavyweight kickboxing champion Rico Verhoven. The fight will be a 12-round boxing match taking place in front of the Pyramids of Giza, Egypt. The event, dubbed "Glory in Giza," promises to be more than just a spectacle, as the fight for the heavyweight title will be set against one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Now, fans can visualize how this historic event will unfold.

Alexander Usyk is a linear heavyweight champion and the first boxer to become a three-time undisputed champion in the era of the four belts. He is considered one of the best fighters of his generation and among the highest-ranked boxers in the current rankings. His last fight was in July, when he knocked out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round.

Rico Verhoven is the kickboxer who held the GLORY title for the longest time and is regarded as one of the greatest kickboxers of all time. His last bout was in June 2025, when he won by judges' decision against Artur Vakhitov at GLORY 100. Verhoven has one previous boxing match in his career—a knockout victory in the second round over Janos Finfer in 2014.

The clash between these two champions will take place on Saturday evening (May 23). Usyk and Verhoven are expected to step into the ring shortly before midnight.
