Two US Navy fighter jets collided mid-air and crashed during the Gunfighter Skies air show at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho on Sunday. The incident occurred around 1pm local time, approximately 80 kilometers southeast of Boise. The collision involved two EA-18G Growler aircraft, prompting panic among spectators. Footage captured the dramatic moment the aircraft collided in mid-air before both jets descended out of control, followed by an explosion and a large plume of smoke upon impact.

Event announcers confirmed to the crowd that all four pilots had been located and were safe. Emergency services were deployed immediately to recover the aircrew, who landed approximately one mile from the crash site. Authorities confirmed that crash fire rescue teams and other emergency responders attended the scene as a brush fire ignited by the impact spread in the surrounding area.

The remainder of the air show was suspended, and organizers instructed attendees to remain on the base while emergency operations continued. The Mountain Home Police Department confirmed that an investigation into the incident had begun, with the base remaining on lockdown following the crash. Military officials described the ejections as successful, noting that all parachutes deployed as the pilots escaped the stricken aircraft.
