Universitatea Craiova is preparing for a significant transfer event, with Mihai Rotaru setting a price tag of 5 million euros for the departures of star players Anzor Mekvabishvili and Steven Nsimba. Two of the best-rated players in the Oltenian club are in high demand abroad. Rotaru could make a big splash on the transfer market. Trumedia reports that the two players could leave the club for 5 million euros.
The Portuguese coach has continued the work of Mirel Rădoi and has successfully won the Romanian Cup. He is also close to achieving an historic double if he beats FC U Cluj in their direct clash in the league.
The news is not good for Rotaru, as multiple clubs are interested in the services of Anzor and Nsimba. Former Romanian international Gică Craioveanu has recommended Anzor to La Liga, and Getafe might prepare a tempting offer this summer. Rotaru demands 3 million euros for the 24-year-old Georgian midfielder Anzor, who is valued at 1.5 million euros. Anzor has played 58 matches this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 10 key assists. He has also played for Dinamo Tbilisi before coming to Romania in 2024 and has 31 caps for the Georgian national team.
According to Trumedia, Rotaru has told multiple agents that he would want no less than 2 million euros for Nsimba. The millionaire wants the money to be transferred in a single transaction for both players. Steven Nsimba, a 29-year-old French striker, has scored 13 goals in 44 matches this season. He joined the club on a free transfer last summer. He has only played in lower French leagues and is valued at 800,000 euros according to Transfermarkt.
The most important player for the Oltenian club is considering a significant transfer abroad. Ștefan Baiaram, aged 22, is the player for whom Rotaru would like to receive at least 7 million euros. The businessman paid 1 million euros last year for 25% of Baiaram’s future transfer value, owned by Silviu Bogdan.
Recently, Coelho has kept Baiaram on the bench, but this has not affected the player’s mindset or his potential departure from the club.
“(Does the bench position affect you?) No, I have spoken with Mister, he told me what he wants from me. I want to focus on the Cup final, there are three more matches and we will see what happens. I am not thinking about this (that the bench position will affect my transfer), I want to help my team. It will definitely be good for me,” Ștefan Baiaram told Digi Sport.
Rotaru's transfer strategy is bold and risky, but if he pulls it off, it could be a game-changer for the club! Do you think these players are worth the price tag?
