Universitatea Craiova secured the Romanian Superliga title with a decisive 5-0 victory over Universitatea Cluj at the Ion Oblemenco Stadium in the penultimate match of the play-offs. The team from Craiova dominated the match with goals from David Matei (3), Assad Al Hamlawi (9 and 48), Anzor Mekvabishvili (59), and Luca Băsceanu (72).
The team also claimed the Romanian Cup earlier in the week, defeating the same opponent in a penalty shootout. This double triumph marks a historic achievement for Universitatea Craiova, replicating the success of 35 years ago.

"Universitatea Craiova defeated Universitatea Cluj 5-0 and became the mathematical champions of the 2025-2026 Romanian Superliga season.
