On Sunday, May 17, Universitatea Craiova secured the Superliga title by defeating U Cluj 5-0 in the penultimate stage of the playoffs. The celebration was ignited both on the field and among the fans in the stands of the Ion Oblemenco Stadium following the final whistle.

The game against U Cluj was a decisive moment in the club's championship run. Earlier this week, Craiova had won the Romanian Cup in a penalty shootout against their rivals, the "Red Devils." This latest victory cemented their position at the top of the league.

The fans of the "white and blue" team stormed the arena and created an impressive scene, lighting torches and singing non-stop to push their team towards victory. After the 5-0 win, the players celebrated on the field alongside the passionate fans in the stands.

David Matei opened the scoring in the third minute, followed by Assad Al-Hamlawi (10th and 49th minutes), Anzor Mekvabishvili (60th minute), and Luca Băsceanu (73rd minute).

Mihai Rotaru, the club's financier, made an appearance on the field after the match. Journalists sought to interview him, but he directed them to speak with the players of Filipe Coelho, the 45-year-old coach.
