Aston Villa’s manager Unai Emery expressed confidence ahead of the Europa League final against SC Freiburg at the Tüpraş Stadium. Emery, speaking at a press conference, highlighted his trust in the team’s abilities.
“We trust ourselves completely,” said Emery, emphasizing his confidence in Aston Villa’s performance. “We have gone through a significant process in Europe this year, and now we have reached the final. We have played enough matches at the European level, and this experience is crucial for us.”
Emery also addressed the team’s respect for their opponents, Freiburg. “Football is tough, and winning is even tougher. We have great respect for our opponent. If we bring our best performance to the pitch tomorrow, we will be closer to winning,” he stated.
The coach provided an update on the condition of Amadou Onana, who has been dealing with an injury. “Onana trained yesterday and will do so today. We will evaluate his condition tomorrow. He is an important player for us,” Emery explained.
Aston Villa’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez echoed Emery’s confidence. “I believe in my team and myself. When we fight together, we can beat anyone,” he said.
Takım kaptanı John McGinn also expressed his optimism, emphasizing the need to stay calm and perform consistently. “We know how tough a team Freiburg is, but if we do what we have been doing so far, I think the result will be positive. Hopefully, I can increase the goal count,” McGinn stated.
Emery's confidence is contagious, but facing Freiburg won't be easy. How will Aston Villa handle the pressure and secure their spot on the podium?
