As Istanbul prepares to host a historic night with the UEFA Europa League final, English representative Aston Villa will face German team Freiburg at Tüpraş Stadium for the championship. Notable figures from the football world are flocking to Istanbul for the big match, including Gabriel Agbonlahor, one of Aston Villa’s legendary former players, who traveled to the city for the final.
During his visit to Istanbul, Agbonlahor shared an interesting shaving experience at a Turkish barber shop on social media. The images show the legend having paper-like tubes inserted into his ears, which the barber then lights.
WHO IS GABRIEL AGBONLAHOR?
Gabriel Agbonlahor is one of the most iconic players in modern Aston Villa history, renowned for his speed and explosive power. A product of the club’s youth academy, Agbonlahor played almost his entire professional career with Aston Villa from 2005 to 2018, scoring 73 goals in the Premier League. His total tally with the club is 86 goals in 391 matches.
In his prime, Agbonlahor was one of the league's fastest and most powerful strikers, often serving as the deadly weapon in counter-attacks. He has also represented England in international matches. Since retiring from football in 2019, Agbonlahor has become known for his commentary in English media.
I can't believe Agbonlahor had such an unusual trimming experience! But it shows how much culture can differ even in something as simple as a barber shop visit. How do you think the Turkish barber felt about the famous footballer's visit?
