Turkey's Women's Volleyball Team Prepares for Nations League

Turkey's women's volleyball team held a media day ahead of their participation in the 2026 FIVB Nations League.

Turkey's women's volleyball team, set to compete in the 2026 FIVB Nations League from June 3-8 in Brazil, held a media day at the TVF Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall. The event included representatives from the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF), head coach Daniele Santarelli, and team captain İlkin Aydın.

TVF Board Member and Spokesperson Mustafa Alparslan highlighted the team's busy schedule, emphasizing their participation in the Nations League, EuroVolley, and the Mediterranean Games. "We are very excited. We have a dense calendar ahead. We will first compete in Italy from May 22-24, then head to Brazil for the Nations League. We will play in the Nations League from June 3-7, then continue in Ankara from June 17-21. In the third week, we will travel to Japan. We hope to make it to the finals. We will host EuroVolley in Istanbul from August 21-September 6. We will share more details about the Mediterranean Games in the coming days," he said.

Head coach Daniele Santarelli expressed satisfaction with the team's level and his enjoyment of working with them. "I am very happy to be here. This is my fourth summer with 'Ladies of Filene.' I want to thank the technical staff who started the season before me. When I arrived, I saw the team's level was very good. I am enjoying working with this team and the young players. I hope we can do well throughout the summer. We will start with the tournament in Italy, where the level is very high. We will play against strong teams and aim to improve our game and level day by day. We have EuroVolley and the Nations League finals in the second half of the summer. We want to improve our game and level day by day to achieve our dreams. We have many things we want to achieve, and we know we have the power to do so. We are aware of the level of teams in the world and Europe, and we will work and fight to compete with them. I hope this summer will be one where we can realize our dreams."

Captain İlkin Aydın spoke about the team's youth and their desire to represent the national team well. "We all had a roughly 10-day break. We are slowly gathering now. Yes, we are a young team, but I think we will have more time to get to know each other in Italy. Last year, we were also a young team and achieved a 4-4 record. I hope this year will be enjoyable for us too. We will strive to represent the national team as well as possible."
