Tumane Monastery Marks Two Major Jubilees This Weekend

On Sunday, May 24, 2026, the Tumane Monastery will celebrate two significant jubilees — the 90th anniversary of the relics of Saint Zosima Tumanskiy the Miracle-Worker and the 10th anniversary of the renewal of the grand Tumane liturgy and re-clothing of the relics. This event is considered one of the largest spiritual gatherings in the Serbian Orthodox Church.

In honor of these occasions, the monastery will hold a traditional re-clothing of Saint Zosima’s relics and a liturgy with the relics up to their enshrinement. Revitalized in 2016 after the arrival of a new brotherhood, this blessed tradition, dating back to Russian monks, brings together tens of thousands of faithful each year who come to honor the Saint and offer prayers for health, salvation, and blessings.

The Holy Archieratical Liturgy will begin at 08:30. Following the service, there will be a solemn re-clothing of the relics of Saint Zosima, and pieces of the old clothing will be distributed to the faithful as blessings.

Afterward, during the prayerful liturgy, the relics of the Saint will be carried to his enshrinement, where the faithful can venerate them and offer prayers for health, spiritual strengthening, and all blessings throughout the day.

"For years, the love and faith in Saint Zosima have attracted God’s people, who find comfort and relief from their sufferings and illnesses at this site, near his holy relics. This gathering is a vital artery of our people and the church mission and preaching of the Resurrection of Christ in the 21st century," emphasized Archimandrite Dimitrije, the hegumen of Tumane Monastery.

The Tumane Monastery invites the faithful to participate in this significant spiritual gathering and celebrate the jubilees that testify to living faith, prayerful unity, and the continuous presence of divine grace in our people.
