Captain of the Croatian water polo team, Ivica Tucak, recently gave an extensive interview to Sportal in which he spoke about the eternal rivalry between Croatia and Serbia in water polo. Tucak also reflected on his relationship with former Serbian captain Dejan Savić and his time as a player for Red Star before the war.

"I have said it a million times: Belgrade is a city I always enjoy returning to and where I have countless dear and great friends. I feel well there. My friends from Belgrade are always welcome guests in Šibenik; we take a little boat ride, eat some fish, and that's something no one can take away from us," Tucak stated.

Tucak emphasized his pride in being Croatian but stressed that he would never hate anyone just because they are Serbian.

"I love my homeland more than anything in the world. I am Croatian and proud of it, but I will never allow myself to hate someone just because they are Serbian. For me, a friend is a friend, a person is a person, and nationality is something else," Tucak said to Sportal.
