The traditional international boxing tournament “Beogradski Pobednik” has once again demonstrated its status as one of the most prestigious sporting events in the region and one of Europe’s oldest tournaments. The 63rd edition brought together elite boxers who entertained the audience at the Sports and Cultural Center in Obrenovac with a series of high-quality and thrilling matches filled with competitive spirit and a strong desire to win.

The presence of top World Boxing officials, including President Genady Golovkin and General Secretary Tom Diehlen, added special significance to the tournament. During their stay in Serbia, the delegation attended the final matches and held numerous meetings with the leadership of the Serbian Boxing Federation.

After visiting Belgrade, the World Boxing representatives sent an official letter to the President of the Serbian Boxing Federation, Nenad Borovčanin, expressing their gratitude for the hospitality and support during the delegation’s stay in Serbia.

In a statement, the professionalism, dedication, and organizational level of the hosts were emphasized, with the assessment that excellent cooperation, attention to detail, and a pleasant atmosphere contributed to a successful and productive visit.

The World Boxing representatives highlighted the importance of the open and constructive discussions held during the visit, noting the strong potential for future collaboration with the Serbian Boxing Federation. They also praised Serbia’s continued contribution to the development of Olympic boxing and the promotion of the sport on the international stage.

During their stay in Serbia, the World Boxing delegation had the opportunity to directly witness the high level of organization of the “Beogradski Pobednik” tournament, which once again showcased Serbia’s rich boxing tradition and its ability to organize large international competitions to the highest world standards. The meeting with the top figures in Serbian sports, Minister Zoran Gajić and President of the Serbian Olympic Committee Dejan Tomašević, was also significant.

The visit of World Boxing legend Genady Golovkin, who made his first trip to Serbia and the region since assuming his leadership role, is seen as an important step towards further developing Serbian boxing and strengthening its international position.

Golovkin’s visit comes at a time when Serbia is intensively working on improving boxing infrastructure and organizing major international competitions.
