Historical Success in Türkiye Cup

The Karadeniz team has now won the cup 10 times in 18 finals, with their most recent victory coming in the 2019-2020 season when they defeated Corendon Alanyaspor 2-0 in the final. This win marks a five-year gap since their last cup triumph.

Throughout their history, Trabzonspor has faced numerous opponents in the final, including Beşiktaş, Gençlerbirliği, Galatasaray, Bursaspor, Adana Demirspor, Fenerbahçe, and Alanyaspor. Their first cup victory came in the 1976-1977 season against Beşiktaş, followed by wins in 1977-1978 against Adana Demirspor, 1983-1984 against Beşiktaş, 1991-1992 against Bursaspor, 1994-1995 against Galatasaray, 2,002-2003 and 2003-2004 against Gençlerbirliği, 2009-2010 against Fenerbahçe, and 2019-2020 against Corendon Alanyaspor.

Trabzonspor’s success under head coach Fatih Tekke, who took over in the 27th week of the previous season, marks their second cup victory under his leadership. Tekke, who achieved his first cup victory after 14 months in charge, led the team to a 3-0 defeat against Galatasaray in the previous season’s final.

Trabzonspor's triumph also marks the second time they have reached the final under club president Ertuğrul Doğan, who also secured his first cup victory as club president. The team also faced TÜMOSAN Konyaspor for the first time in the final, having previously played against them in the first half of the league season with Trabzonspor winning 3-1 in Trabzon and TÜMOSAN Konyaspor winning 2-1 in Konya.
