Serbian tennis star Lola Radivojević has advanced to the second round of the Roland Garros qualifiers after defeating Linde Klimovič 6-3, 6-4.
Radivojević, born in Prokuplje but raised in Blace, has never played in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament. Her closest brush with the main draw came last year in Paris, where she fell in the final round of the qualifiers.
The current top-ranked Serbian player is now ranked 147th on the WTA list. She dominated the first set against Klimovič with two breaks, and in the second set, she took the service three times after Klimovič briefly returned to the match.
Radivojević has played two finals on Challenger tournaments last year and has 13 Futures titles, winning trophies eight times.
The Serbian player will face Belgium’s Gret Minen in the second round, who defeated Russian Anastasia Gasanova 6-3, 7-5.
