Top Seed Victoria Mboko Reaches Final in Strasbourg

Top-seeded Canadian Victoria Mboko secured a place in the final of the women's tennis tournament in Strasbourg, defeating Romanian Jacqueline Christian with scores of 7-6(3), 3-6, 6-2. This is Mboko's first final appearance in a clay court tournament.

Mboko overcame a tough start to the match, where she was trailing 2-5 in games and had to save set points in three different service games. She managed to come through and win the first set in a tiebreak with a score of 7-3.

Challenging Second and Third Sets

In the second set, Christian once again led by three games at 4-1, but this time she did not falter. However, Christian's strength was only enough to hold off Mboko until the third set, where Mboko dominated and won 6-2.

Final Matchup

In the final, Mboko will face former world number 8 Emma Navarro. Navarro, the only American player left in the tournament, defeated An Li with scores of 6-1, 6-3 in just 78 minutes of play. Navarro will be attempting to win her third title in her career.
