Top Gymnastics Stars to Compete in European Championships in Varna

The European Gymnastics Championships in Varna, Bulgaria, will take place from May 27 to 31, featuring some of the biggest names in the sport. Bulgarian hopes for medals rest on the shoulders of stars like Stiliyana Nikolova and Eva Bresaliева, while fans eagerly await their clash with the reigning European all-around champion, Taissia Onofriychuk (Ukraine), along with Olympic and world champion Daria Vartolomeeva (Germany), and Italian star Sofia Rafaely.

Other notable competitors include Tara Dragash (Italy), the Romanian duo of Amalia Lika and Andrea Verdes, Fani Pigntzki (Hungary), Daniel Muñiz and Alona Tal Franco (Israel), Liliana Levin (Poland), Hatice Gökte Eimer (Turkey), Alina Kharnasko (Belarus), and Russians Maria Borisova, Sofia Ilteriakova, and Arina Kovshova. Bulgaria will field a team combining class, experience, and new energy, with Stiliyana Nikolova and Eva Bresaliева representing the country in the individual women's competition, and Sofia Ivanova, Raya Bozhilova, Magdalina Minevskа, Margarita Vasileva, Magdalena Volkova, and Emilija Obretenova in the women's ensemble competition.

The competition also includes the individual girls' category, with Siyana Alekova (ribbon), Dea Emilova (hoop and ribbon), and Aleksandra Petrova (ball) defending Bulgaria's colors. The championships will feature 43 countries with 372 gymnasts, including 260 women and 26 ensembles, and 112 girls. Bulgaria will also have a presence on the judging panels with Filipp Filippov and Rada Vrazheva.
