The SWPL title race has reached its climax with Sunday's final round of fixtures. Hearts, managed by Eva Olid, hold a two-point lead over Rangers, coached by Leanne Crichton. Olid, who will leave Hearts this summer, hopes to depart as a league champion, while Crichton is aiming for a title win in her first season at the helm.
Hearts and Rangers Face Off
Hearts face Hibernian at 13:10 BST, with Rangers traveling to Glasgow City. The match will be broadcast live on the BBC Sport website, iPlayer, and BBC Alba.
Following last week's 0-0 draw with Glasgow City, Olid expressed her team's need to improve their ball control. "We have to learn to handle the pressure and just focus on the game," she said. "We are good on the ball and want to create attacking opportunities."
Crichton, on the other hand, has a straightforward message for her players: "Win the game." She emphasized that securing European football has provided her young team with confidence. "It's great for a group as young as we have been this season with the turnover in the last 12 months."
Head-to-Head Advantage
In the four meetings this season, Hearts have outperformed Rangers, winning three and drawing one. If the teams end the season level on points, Hearts will clinch the title due to their superior head-to-head record.
"The reality is we have only taken one point from 12 against Hearts, so if they finish on top, we can't complain," said Crichton. "We have only got ourselves to blame."
Sunday's other match features Celtic against Partick Thistle. Although the outcome is less significant, as Celtic will finish fifth and Thistle sixth, it serves as a final preparation for Celtic's Women's Scottish Cup final against Rangers at Hampden on 31 May.
Grant Scott, who took over from Elena Sadiku mid-season, is aiming for his first trophy since joining from Hibernian. With a winless streak since early March, Celtic will seek to improve their form leading into the cup final.
