Neluțu Varga (55 years old), the financier behind the Gruia Group, has announced that Swiss millionaires will be investing 39% in CFR Cluj. This follows the team's qualification for the Conference League preliminaries after securing a third-place position in the Superliga playoffs. CFR Cluj recently drew 0-0 against Dinamo in the ninth round of the playoffs, solidifying their third position in the standings.
Varga revealed that the Swiss financial company plans to invest 40 million euros in the club, which will be used to pay off all debts, including those to the state. This investment will also help the club avoid any future financial stress.
“Together with my partners from Switzerland, we will ensure the club's annual budget at the beginning of each year. We will put the money in the club's account, and from there, the club's management will be organized,” Varga explained to Fanatik.
Varga also reassured that he has no plans to sell the club and will use his share to help the club avoid any future debt. He emphasized that the club has always paid salaries on time and that they were among the highest in the league.
The investment will allow CFR Cluj, under the command of Daniel Pancu (48 years old), to participate in the Conference League preliminaries. This partnership will strengthen the club's financial stability and provide a fresh start for the team.
This is huge news for CFR Cluj! The Swiss investment will give them the financial stability they need to compete in the Conference League. But will this partnership bring the success they've been craving? Let's see how it all plays out this season!
