Veteran Bulgarian coach Stanimir "Miri" Stoilov and his team, Göztepe, have bid farewell to their European dreams following a heavy 0-3 loss against Samsum in the final round of the Turkish league. This result has pushed Göztepe down to the fifth position in the final standings, behind Istanbul Başakşehir who secured the fifth spot with 57 points, while Göztepe ended with 55 points.

The defeat came as a significant blow to Göztepe's aspirations for a spot in the Europa Conference League. Their hopes now depend on Trabzonspor winning the Turkish Cup, which would secure the fifth position a Europa Conference League spot.

Adding to the disappointment, former CSKA defender Eliiton was sent off with a direct red card in the 81st minute when the score was still 1-0 in Samsum's favor. The 34th and final round match marked the end of Göztepe's season with a bitter taste.
