Stanislav Genchev is almost certain to take over Plovdiv's "Botev" for the upcoming season. The club is expected to confirm this after the current campaign concludes. The former coach of Sofia's "Lokomotiv" met with the financial benefactor of the "yellow-and-blacks," Iliyan Filipov, on Wednesday at the club's base in "Komatevo."

Genchev, who has led the "canaries" briefly in 2023, will join "Botev" along with his long-time assistant at "Lokomotiv," "Botev," "Krumovgrad," "Levski," and "Lokomotiv" again, Zhivko Milanov. The current interim coach, Luchezar Baltanov, will remain in Genchev's staff.

The 45-year-old specialist is expected to attend the home match of "Botev" against "Black Sea" on Saturday at 7 PM, which is part of the second phase in the elite league. The match will see the suspended key players Anton Conte, Carlos Algarra, and Emerson Rodrigues miss out. Following a health issue, the Brazilian winger Pedro Igor will return to the lineup.
