The "Spasovdanski Dani" festival has officially begun in Prizren, Serbia, with a liturgy held in the Church of Saint Sava. The event also inaugurated an art exhibition featuring paintings from the previous year's "Autumn in Prizren" art colony.

Liturgy and Art Exhibition

The festival's opening liturgy was conducted by the igumen of the Holy Archangels Michael Monastery, assisted by the clergy of the Raška and Prizren Eparchy, as reported by Radio Kim. The igumen, Father Mihailo, emphasized the beauty and sanctity of the event, calling it a testament to life, joy, and unity in the face of adversity.

Celebrating Serbian Culture

In Prizren, the Spasovdan (Transfiguration Day) is celebrated as a city festival, traditionally gathering the remaining Serbs and those who were displaced, along with guests from central Serbia. Milena Parlić, assistant to the director of the KIM Office, attended the opening of the festival, highlighting the importance of love, faith, and unity for Serbs, particularly those living in Kosovo and Metohija.

This year's host of the festival is Nikola Spasojević, who moved to Prizren from Belgrade two years ago with his wife. Rada Komazec, director of the Panorama – Jedinstvo news and publishing public company, opened the festival and the exhibition of paintings from the "Autumn in Prizren" art colony, emphasizing the historical significance and enduring presence of Serbian culture in the region.

The organizers of the festival are the Culture House "Gracanica," the Society of Friends of the Holy Archangels Monastery near Prizren, and the Art Center in Prizren, under the patronage of the KIM Office and the Government of the Republic of Serbia, and with the support of the Prizren Church Community and the Prizren municipality.
