Sorin Cârțu, honorary president of Universitatea Craiova, spoke exclusively to ProSport about the team's championship-winning performance. On Sunday, in the penultimate stage of the Superliga playoffs, Universitatea Craiova convincingly defeated U Cluj 5-0, securing the championship title mathematically.

The goals were scored by Matei, Al Hamlawi (two goals), Mekvabishvili, and Băsceanu.

Cârțu, who is 70 years old, expressed immense happiness over the outstanding performance by the team. He praised Filipe Coelho, the 45-year-old coach, for making history by winning both the Superliga and the Romanian Cup in his first season.

"We have experienced everything at its peak. We are incredibly happy! I don't want to analyze the game. Everything that happened last night was at its best, so it doesn't matter who was in front of us... it was an incredible atmosphere and a fantastic team response. Everything was superb."

Regarding Aurică Țicleanu's controversial remarks before the match, where the former great player of Craiova Maxima stated that the current Universitatea Craiova has no connection to the club he played for, Cârțu responded: "Hai să-ți spun ceva. Nu intru în polemici cu foștii coechipieri. E treaba lui. E un fost mare fotbalist al Universității Craiova Maxima și are opinia lui, treaba lui..."
