Thousands of people gathered on Sofia's "Knyaz Aleksandar Battemberg" square to welcome singer Dara after her victory at the Eurovision Song Contest. The crowd stretched from the Royal Palace to the Presidential Palace, where several screens were set up. Around 6 PM, the celebration began with clips from Eurovision and guest DJs playing Dara’s hit songs like "Bangarang," "Darbie," and "Rodena Takava."
The evening featured performances by DJs THEO, Teddy Georgo, and Diass, who showcased a mix of Dara’s hits, music videos, and clips from her career. Flags with the phrase "DARA IS NUMBER 1" and "BULGARIA LOVES BANGARANGA" were on sale. Security was heightened, with police checking everyone entering the grand celebration.
Shortly after 7 PM, Dara walked the 60-meter red carpet, with the crowd chanting her name. After her victory, Dara expressed her joy and thanked the mayor of Sofia, Vasile Terziev, for the red carpet welcome. She kicked off the festivities with "Bangarang," moving through the crowd, hugging and greeting her fans who showered her with bouquets and gifts.
"Hello everyone, I am so happy to see you all. I never expected such a celebration, and I am very grateful from the bottom of my heart. I will keep this moment with me until the end of my life. My dream has always been to bring people together, and seeing you all here means a lot to me. Thank you for making my dream come true," Dara said at the start of the celebration.
In addition to her Eurovision victory, Dara also celebrated the 10th anniversary of her career. The celebration was attended by Varna mayor Blagomir Kozov, Dara’s hometown, and BNT General Director Milena Milotinova.
I can't believe the massive turnout for Dara! This is the power of music and unity! Seeing such a large crowd celebrating a Eurovision victory makes me wish we had more of this in the Balkans. Can you imagine the energy if all the Balkan countries united for a Eurovision celebration? Let's make it happen!
