Sinner and Djokovic in Opposite Halves of Roland Garros Draw
Janic Sinner and Novak Djokovic have been placed in opposite halves of the Roland Garros draw following the official ceremony on Thursday. The ATP ranking leader, Sinner, arrives at the tournament with a streak of 29 consecutive wins from the clay court Grand Slam. He will begin his campaign against French wildcard Clemens Tabur. The 24-year-old Sinner is aiming to become the seventh man in the Open Era to complete a career Grand Slam with the Roland Garros title.
Djokovic's Path to Title
Three-time champion in Paris, Novak Djokovic, begins his quest for his 25th Grand Slam title against Giovanni Mpeche Perric. In the third round, he could face #NextGenATP star João Fonseca. The Serbian player is in the same half of the draw as the second seed and 2024 finalist, Alexander Zverev, who starts against Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi. Zverev's quarter also includes home favorite Arthur Rics, who opens against Stan Wawrinka. The 41-year-old Swiss, a 2015 Roland Garros champion, is playing his final season in the ATP tour.
Potential Rivals
In the fourth round, Djokovic could face Casper Ruud, a two-time finalist of the clay court Grand Slam. Ruud, who reached the final last week in Rome, continues his participation in Geneva, where he is already in the quarterfinals.
