Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku today. Following the meeting, Vučić will also hold discussions with representatives of major Azerbaijani companies. Alongside Vučić, the delegation includes First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Siniša Mali.

The bilateral relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan have developed through intensive political cooperation, economic projects, and strategic partnerships in energy, infrastructure, and investment sectors over recent years. The two countries maintain traditional friendly relations based on mutual support for territorial integrity and respect for international law.

The political dialogue between Belgrade and Baku has been further strengthened through frequent meetings of state officials and the signing of several cooperation agreements. The relationship between President Aleksandar Vučić and Ilham Aliyev is particularly significant, as they have repeatedly highlighted the mutual trust and strategic partnership between the two countries.

Vučić to Participate in 13th World Urban Forum

During his visit to Azerbaijan, Vučić will also attend the 13th World Urban Forum organized by the United Nations. Following the opening ceremony, he will participate in addresses from the host, high-ranking UN officials, representatives of leading global companies, and key global actors in sustainable development.

Aliyev last visited Serbia in February 2026, when the first meeting of the Serbia-Azerbaijan Strategic Partnership Council was held in Belgrade. During this visit, an agreement was signed for the construction of a gas pipeline.
