Serbian MMA fighter Jovan Leka has officially joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the world's premier MMA organization. Leka, who is 24 years old, will make his debut at an event in Belgrade on August 1st, facing Brazilian fighter Max Gimenes in the main event.
Leka, hailing from Novi Sad, stands 193 cm tall and weighs 117 kg. He has a record of 13 wins and two losses, with 85 of his wins coming via submission. Gimenes, on the other hand, is 33 years old with a record of six wins and two losses, four of which were by knockout.
Gimenes, originally from Brazil, now resides in the United States in the state of Maryland. Standing at 185 cm and weighing 116 kg, he holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and is known for his grappling skills. Despite his recent entry into the UFC, Gimenes is a respected figure in the grappling community, having previously represented the renowned GF Team in Rio de Janeiro.
Gimenes made his UFC debut in September 2025, but was defeated by Josh Hookta in the first round via technical knockout (TKO) after just 56 seconds. Despite the quick loss, Gimenes’ experience and skills in Brazilian jiu-jitsu make him a formidable opponent for Leka.
