The Serbian handball team secured a narrow victory over Hungary in their first qualifying match for the World Championship, held at the "Čair" arena in Niš. The 31-29 win leaves Serbia with a two-goal advantage heading into the return match in Hungary.

The team that accumulates more goals across the two matches will advance to the World Championship. This means Serbia needs only to avoid losing by more than one goal or draw in the upcoming match in Hungary.

The return match is scheduled for Sunday, May 17th, at 17:30 local time. Due to the quick turnaround, both teams will have limited time to recuperate.

The broadcast will be available on RTS and Arena Sport channels.
