At the eighth edition of the "Kamen Stanchev" cycling competition in Samokov, Serbian cyclist Marko Stančić emerged as the winner, marking the first time a foreign competitor has claimed the title.

The race was highly dynamic, with strong winds contributing to the fast pace, especially during the first two laps through the villages of Relovo and Belchin Bani. Continuous attacks, overtakes, and counterattacks kept the speed high throughout. As the rain approached, it slowed down the group, allowing Stančić's final attack to go unanswered. He quickly built a three-minute lead, which expanded to nearly five minutes by the end of the fifth lap. The rain and strong winds hindered the pursuit, solidifying Stančić's victory.

Second place went to Gabriel Grozhev from Pomorie Cycling Club, with Borislav Hadzhistoyanov from Vitosha Cycling Club in third. Additional awards went to Borislav Palashov (Dolchini) and Jordan Petrov (Hemus 1896).

In the youth category, Pavel Dimitrov (Lotus) dominated over Anton Bogdanov (Czar Simeon) and Ivan Milchev (Pomorie Cycling Club). The final minutes saw an intense storm, but the competitors persevered through rain, mud, strong winds, and temperatures between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius.

Earlier, the Borovets Cup for younger age groups and women's elite was held, with Gerghana Stoyanova from Arbo Knitfield taking first place.

The cycling competitions in Samokov continued with the celebration of Borovets' 130th anniversary. The race from "Arena Samokov" to Rila track saw most competitors undeterred by the harsh weather, engaging in a fierce battle for medals. Gerghana Stoyanova won again for the women.

The main competition involved three full laps from Samokov to Borovets, Bely Iskra, and back to Samokov, followed by a final ascent to Borovets. Attacks began just 5 km after the start, with four competitors forming the largest group before the first descent to Bely Iskra. The descent was perilous due to yesterday's storm, which had deposited sand on the road. The strong winds and multiple small groups influenced the race, with Borislav Palashov eventually claiming victory and Borislav Hadzhistoyanov finishing third. Additional awards went to Gabriel Grozhev, Jordan Petrov, and Borislav Ivanov.
