The highly anticipated Derby della Capitale between Roma and Lazio will indeed take place on Sunday at midday, along with four other matches vying for a spot in the Champions League. The schedule for Serie A had been in chaos for several days, as teams competing for the same goal were required to play simultaneously in the last two rounds.

With the battle for Champions League spots uncertain, Roma, Juventus, Milan, Como, and Napoli had to play at the same time. After days of debate, court rulings, and cancellations by various authorities, a final agreement was reached on Thursday.

The "Derby della Capitale" will be played on Sunday at noon, alongside four other matches: Como - Parma, Genoa - Milan, Juventus - Fiorentina, and Pisa - Napoli.

The Rome derby between Roma and Lazio was originally scheduled for Sunday. However, due to the finals of the Roma Open tennis tournament at the nearby Foro Italico, the city authorities moved the football derby to Monday at 8:45 PM to ensure the safety of both events. The Italian league immediately opposed the city's decision, even filing a legal case to have it overturned. The court called both parties for negotiations.

In a meeting involving the Prefecture, Serie A League, and Sport e Salute, it was decided that the derby and the other four matches would take place on Sunday at noon.

"At the request of the administrative court to reach an agreement between the parties, the Roman prefect accepted the league's proposal to hold the AS Roma - Lazio derby on Sunday at 12:00 noon at the Stadio Olimpico," the league announced.

Inter is the champion with an unassailable 85 points, two rounds before the end of the season. Napoli is second with 70 points, Juventus is third with 68 points, Milan and Roma are tied with 67 points each, and Como is sixth with 65 points. The top four teams qualify for the Champions League.
