Romanian defender Deian Boldor has parted ways with ETO Gyor just a few days after the Hungarian team secured the national league title. Boldor, who joined the Hungarian side in September 2023, has played for the team for three seasons. At the time of his arrival, ETO Gyor was competing in the second division with the goal of returning to the top tier of Hungarian football.
Promotion and Title
Boldor played a pivotal role in the team's promotion, featuring in 24 matches and logging almost 1700 minutes in his first season. After securing promotion to the top division, Boldor saw his status as an undisputed starter diminish but remained a key figure in the locker room, helping integrate younger players. Over the next two seasons in the first division, Boldor made 23 appearances in the league, 6 in the cup, and 3 in European competitions, scoring a total of 4 goals during his three-year stint at the club.
Championship Glory
The departure comes shortly after an outstanding performance. Last week, ETO Gyor, a team featuring four Romanians (Paul Anton, Stefan Vladouiu, Claudiu Bumba, and Deian Boldor), clinched the Hungarian league title, ending Ferencvaros' seven-year title streak.
N-am fost surprins de plecarea lui Deian după titlu, dar sper că îl vei vedea pe câmpul de fotbal curând, în altă echipă.
