Romanian coach Cristi Chivu has extended his contract with Inter Milan until the summer of 2028, according to a breaking news announcement by renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano. Chivu, 45, recently celebrated a double victory, winning both the Serie A and the Italian Cup with Inter.

The club's leadership, impressed by Chivu's performance, decided to secure the Romanian's services for the foreseeable future. Chivu's contract is now set to expire in June 2028, with an option to extend until 2029. His annual salary is reported to be around €3.5 million.

Following the success of his first season as a head coach, Chivu's salary will be increased. However, the transfer of defender Alessandro Bastoni to Barcelona remains uncertain, as Inter’s asking price is considered too high.

The contract negotiations have been completed, and the official procedures have been followed. Chivu is now firmly established as a key figure in Inter's coaching setup, ensuring stability and continuity for the club's future.
