Rolando Maran Takes Over Albania National Football Team

Italian coach Rolando Maran has been appointed as the new head coach of the Albania national football team, succeeding Brazilian Sylvio Mendes Campos Junior.

The Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) announced the appointment of Maran at a press conference. The agreement stipulates that Maran will lead the team until 2028.

FSHF President Armand Duka highlighted Maran's extensive coaching experience during the press conference. Duka expressed confidence in their choice, stating, "We have selected the right person at the right time with the right profile for our national team."

Maran, who has been closely following the Albanian national team, emphasized the moral responsibility of his new role. "Our mission on the field is to reflect the values that you, all the supporters, and the entire nation represent," he said.

Prior to his appointment with the Albanian national team, Maran coached several Italian clubs, including Genoa, Cagliari, Chievo, Catania, Bari, and Varese. His predecessor, Sylvio Mendes Campos Junior, took over the team in January Sylvio Mendes Campos Junior, took over the team in January 2023.
