Footballers from Red Star Belgrade and OFK Belgrade will play a match that marks the conclusion of this year's Serbian Super League season.
Red Star Celebrates the Title
Red Star Belgrade will celebrate its national championship title in a match against OFK Belgrade, much like they did 12 years ago. In 2014, the red and white team ended Partizan's six consecutive trophy streak, and now they step into the shoes of the "eternal" rival. Not only that; the dominance has been extended, bringing Red Star’s total to nine consecutive titles, making it the 37th in the "Marakana" trophy case.
The celebration will be preceded by a small city derby against OFK Belgrade, which is expected to draw a solid crowd to the stands of the largest stadium in Serbia. As the season is effectively over, the red and white team has little time for rest and preparation for the new season. The absolute priority is the qualification for the Champions League and their return to the elite after a one-year hiatus, during which they played in the Europa League.
Red Star will start preparations in mid-June, first on Zlatibor and then in Austria. All of this is a warm-up for the start of the Super League and the Champions League qualification, which the champions will begin from the second round.
ngl, this title feels like it's been a long time coming. they've worked hard, and it's great to see them finally get the recognition they deserve. #RedStarPower -
