KK Real Beograd has achieved its greatest success to date by becoming the champion of the Quality League in junior competition. The club, led by legendary Serbian basketball player Milan Gurović and Jovan Obradović, has focused on younger teams and has seen significant growth since its founding. Now, it's time to harvest the trophies.
The junior team secured the title in the Quality League. At the final tournament, Real recorded three consecutive wins against BKK Radnički, Paragon, and Bek, the tournament host in Padina. The final match against Bek, who also entered the final with two wins, was a heart-stopping affair. Real had a double-digit lead, but Bek fought back and even took a three-point lead in the final seconds. Sergej Vujčić, captain of Real, hit a crucial three-pointer after a timeout, sending the match into overtime. The popular team maintained its lead throughout and triumphed 100-94, sparking a celebration from the entire team.
Gurović celebrated on the court, congratulating each player and coach individually. "We are very happy and satisfied. It was a phenomenal game, and Bek's team is of exceptional quality. My boys fought hard and were rewarded with the trophy. I believe this is just the beginning of Real's trophy era," the legendary Serbian representative said.
The victory is even more significant as the junior team of Real consists mostly of cadets born in 2009, who have a promising future ahead. After winning the Quality League in Belgrade, the Real juniors will compete in a final tournament representing the region of Serbia. Their rivals in Niš will be the home team KK Ratnici, KK Železničar from Inđija, and KK Napredak from Kruševac.
The cadets of Real will also compete for the Quality League trophy in Belgrade.
This is the start of something special for Real! Milan Gurović and the team should keep this momentum going and aim for more titles. Who else sees Real as the future of Serbian basketball? Let's hope these young talents continue to shine!
