Buckingham Palace has announced that Princess Anne will make an official visit to Greece from Friday, May 22 to Sunday, May 24. This visit marks her first official overseas engagement since she attended the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. Accompanying her will be her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence.
The Princess Royal will begin her official duties in Athens, where she will act in her capacity as President of the Mission to Seafarers. She will then travel to Crete to participate in commemorations marking the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Crete.
The commemorations will include a service at the RAF Memorial in Maleme, honoring members of 30 Squadron and 33 Squadron who died defending the island in 1941. The Princess Royal will also attend a Service of Remembrance at the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in Souda Bay. An aerial tribute by 30 Squadron RAF and the Red Arrows display team will follow, with a wreath-laying ceremony to honor fallen servicemen.
The itinerary concludes with a reception at the Grand Arsenal in Chania, where the Princess Royal will meet with descendants of wartime fighters and British Armed Forces veterans residing in Crete.
