Portugal's World Cup Squad: What's Happening with Cristiano Ronaldo?
Roberto Martinez, the Spanish coach of the Portuguese national team, has unveiled the list of 27 players selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place from June 11 to July 19. Among the players named are Cristiano Ronaldo and Vitinha. At 41 years old, Ronaldo, who plays for Al-Nassr, will compete in his sixth World Cup.

The Madeira-born player, who has already participated in six European Championships, confirmed in November 2025 that this would be his final World Cup. The tournament, scheduled from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, will see Portugal included in Group K alongside Colombia, Uzbekistan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Before settling into their training camp in Palm Beach, Florida, Portugal will play two friendly matches at home: against Chile on June 6 in Lisbon and against Nigeria on June 10 in Leiria, central Portugal.
