The city of Plovdiv is gearing up for one of the world's biggest sporting events, the Giro d'Italia 2026, with a stunning floral display created by the municipal company "Parks and Gardens." As the legendary cycling tour prepares to pass through the city, emblematic spaces in Plovdiv have been transformed with thousands of flowers.

The logo of the competition has been recreated using over 400 muscat and 1200 iris plants.

Elegant floral figures have been laid out in Plovdiv, which is welcoming one of the world's biggest sporting events, the Giro d'Italia 2026. The impressive decoration, created by the teams of the municipal company "Parks and Gardens," is spread across the city's avenues and emblematic spaces, with figures in the colors of the competition.

For the event, in the divider strip before the roundabout at Panaire, where the Giro d'Italia route will pass, the municipal company employees created an impressive logo from live flowers. Director of "Parks and Gardens," Radina Andreeva, reported that the composition was made with over 400 muscat and 1200 iris plants and has already attracted the attention of Plovdiv residents and visitors to the city. The floral arrangement of the wheel at "Tsar Boris III Unifier" boulevard, planted with over 7,000 begonias raised in the municipal nursery, also leaves a lasting impression.

A floral decoration inspired by the "pink" identity of the Giro d'Italia has been realized at several other key locations in Plovdiv. In front of the City Hall on St. Stefan Stambolov Square, 5,600 begonias have been planted, forming floral figures and contributing to the festive atmosphere in the city center. The flower boxes and spirals in the central city area have been decorated with 850 beautiful pink petunias.

Particularly attractive is the decoration of the roundabout near the Water Pavilion, where a replica of the Giro d'Italia trophy is erected. There, five Leland Cypress globes, five Loropetalum, 150 "Prostrata Nana" conifers, 130 lavender, and 1,500 asters have been planted.

Different varieties of seasonal flowers adorn the spaces in front of the Theological Seminary and other locations in the city, transforming Plovdiv into a true floral scene for the international sporting event.
