Perugia Advances to Final in CEV Champions League

Italian powerhouse Perugia has secured their place in the CEV Champions League final, defending their title in the strongest European club tournament for men. Under the leadership of head coach Angelo Lorenzetti, Perugia dominated the Polish team Project Warsaw, winning 3-0 (25:19, 25:20, 26:24) in the first semi-final match of the final four, held at the packed Inalpi Arena in Turin.

The "Red Devils" have reached the final for the second consecutive year. In the final, Perugia will face the winner of the second semi-final match, which will be played between last year's finalist Aluron KMK Varta from Zavřeč and the Turkish team Ziraatbank from Ankara later the same evening.

The battle for the CEV Champions League title is set for tomorrow (May 17) at 9:30 PM Bulgarian time. Before that, at 6:00 PM, the match for the bronze medal will take place.

The most valuable player for Perugia was Wasim Ben Tara, who scored 18 points (62% attack efficiency - +8). Augustin Loser, Kamil Semenyuk, and Oleg Plotnitsky each added 10 points for the win.

For the Warsaw team, Bartosz Gumulka scored 19 points (1 block, 1 ace, and 61% attack efficiency - +14), while Kevin Tillie ended with 12 points.
