Romanian coach Mirel Rădoi is facing dismissal from Turkish club Gaziantep after four consecutive losses in the league. His second tenure in Turkey may end after just five matches. Rădoi, a former coach at FCSB, is under pressure in Turkey, where he is seen as a jinx. He left FCSB after five games, hoping for a breakthrough in Turkey, but now he risks being let go from his new club.

Mirel Rădoi (45 years old) is on the verge of an unprecedented performance. In just a few months, he could leave two teams after only five matches. While he left FCSB voluntarily to sign with Gaziantep, the Turks might dismiss him due to negative results.

Rădoi started his tenure at Gaziantep, the former club of Marius Șumudică, with a negative record. After three consecutive losses, the team seemed to improve, but a defeat to Istanbul Başakşehir put them back on the losing streak. Gaziantep lost 1-2 at home.

The club is not emotionally invested in the relegation race, as they mathematically secured their place in the league before Rădoi's appointment. However, the club president humorously and seriously stated he could dismiss Rădoi if he loses five games in a row. The season has ended badly for Rădoi, and it is questionable whether he can turn things around for the Turkish team in the new season.

After his third consecutive loss, Marius Șumudică, former Gaziantep coach, stated that Rădoi might be dismissed if he records another loss. Turks are not patient with coaches, so Rădoi is standing on a powder keg until the start of the new season.

“I’m really worried that Mirel might lose this game and that there won’t be a Mirel for Gaziantep anymore,” Marius Șumudică declared to Fanatik.

Rădoi’s tenure at FCSB was a true record. The coach lasted only six weeks, marking his shortest mandate. In his first tenure, he stayed for five months, then signed with Al-Tai, which he coached for four months. At Al-Baeteh, he lasted half a year, while at Al Jazira, he left after four months. In his two stints at Universitatea Craiova, he coached for four months and ten months, respectively.

He only stayed longer than a year on the national team bench, where he coached for 20 matches from November 2019 to November 2021.
